A comprehensive safety assessment has been published in the prestigious Food and Chemical Toxicology journal, confirming the safety of Emothion® for use in foods and dietary supplements. This achievement underscores our unwavering commitment to quality and safety in all our product offerings.
Comprehensive Safety Evaluation
Emothion® (S-Acetyl Glutathione) underwent a thorough safety assessment, including an in–vitro bacterial reverse mutation assay, an in–vitro micronucleus test, an acute oral toxicity study, and a 13-week repeated-dose toxicity study. These studies aimed to demonstrate the safety of oral exposure to S-Acetyl Glutathione.
Proven Safe for Use in Foods and Supplements
The results of the studies support the safety of S-Acetyl Glutathione as a food or dietary supplement ingredient. No genotoxic or mutagenic effects were found up to 2000 µg/mL, and there were no adverse reactions in the acute toxicity study (LD50 > 2000 mg/kg). The 13-week study confirmed that SAG was well-tolerated with no significant organ damage or alterations in physiological functions. The highest dose tested (1500 mg/kg/day) established the No Observed Adverse Effect Level (NOAEL), further confirming the safety of SAG.
